Coordinates: N45.338362, E7.543034 Altitude: 1270 m Exposure: SE Not very steep but also not very big field. There is an alternative takeoff site just on the NE site in case N/NE winds are present.
Coordinates: N45.311019 E7.541952 Altitude: 550 m Normally the landing direction is southeastward (due to prevailing eastern breeze winds in summer season).
Getting to Corio: 1) From Turin: get on the Motorway SP2 which leads to Caselle Airport. Do not exit at airport but continue on SP2 which becomes a 2-way highway. After passing Cirie and Nole turn right and follow road signs to Corio.
DO not fly with W or NW winds, particularly in foen wind conditions. Even though on takeoff site it may seem calm, on landing site foen wind may exceed 10m/s intensity.
Please consider the fact the flying site is already in the CTR (>1500ft AGL) of Caselle, however the commercial aircraft do not fly towards mountains an it is quite calm area. Helicopter traffic may be present over Lanzo valley.
Forecasts are planning aids, not safety clearance. Check current observations, official airspace and NOTAM information, local rules and your own experience before every flight.
