Sorica is a mountain site in the Slovenian Alps with a recorded launch elevation of 1,465 m. It works best in south-easterly and southerly winds, and can also work in easterly winds. Pilots fly it for thermal, using foot launch.

WARNING: This site is only flyable a handful of days per year. If there is ANY west wind forecast it is dangerous. It is usually only safe on the last day of a Bora wind (local effect). If there are no locals there, it is not flyable.
Usually it is a 20-30 minute walk up but sometimes the ski lift can be organised the day before. The launch is small, space for one glider only. Launching usually occurs between 10am and 11am. Later than this and it is too strong.
In the village Sorica, by the bar or in the open farm land a little closer. Alternatively go for a 15km glide to the east to stretch the flight.

The west wind. The valley wind (prevailing) is usually from the west but for this site it must have an easterly component for the morning.
