About this flying site
This is actually now a completely new but a historic takeoff, which had been abanodoned for many years, and in 2024 the local club cleaned the site and inaugurated it again.
Take-off
Smooth Grass field, oriented to SE.
how to get there: drive to the Montoso village, once you are up, park teh car on the right at the first parking lot, and walk 3-5 min towards "faro" (right with respect to the road when arriving). It takes some 30 vertical meters to climb.
The slope becomes quite steep at the end, hence the takeoff is usable also for hang gliders.
This takeoff site is a good alternative to Rucas in winter months
Access and parking
The takeoff and landing sites have got an unrestricted access.
There is a trail linking the landing and the takeoff, it gains 900 vertical meters, and typically takes 1,5-2h to complete.
Forecasts are planning aids, not safety clearance. Check current observations, official airspace and NOTAM information, local rules and your own experience before every flight.
