About this flying site

Notify farmer Mr Moore. Great coastal site. This used to be an old favourite of the hang gliders. With easy climbs in a huge lift band to big height gains, caused by wave from the UK hills upwind across the sea.

Take-off

E - NNE

Landing

Good top landing with bottom landing on beach or towards Maughold.

Access and parking

By road from Hibernia track, then on foot through fields. Attention livestock.

Local weather notes

Ridge soaring, some morning thermals and wave. Wave can set up from the Cumbrian hills and be in or out of phase, creating big lift or big sink depending on wave frequency which often changes with the state of the tide.
