About this flying site
good starting for XC, especially during summer and, maybe, automn: high take-off.
Take-off
Alti: 1790m
Grass slope, walk a few minutes.
Access and parking
From Chambery go to Saint Jean de Maurienne. When you are in \'la Chambre\'go on the D213 towards Saint-François Longchamps. Take a left, before you go up, towards Notre Dame Du Cruet, pass Montgellafrey and continue towards Les Charrieres. The paved road ends but continue on the gravelroad toward the local lake. Hundred meters passed the lake you can walk up the hill for five minutes before arriving at the take-off.
Local weather notes
If you wait too long you will have the valley wind in your back... it\'s more difficult to take-off ;-)
Forecasts are planning aids, not safety clearance. Check current observations, official airspace and NOTAM information, local rules and your own experience before every flight.
