About this flying site
When wind is too weak, the launching site of Baldern is usually a good alternative.
Take-off
Large field just above a little road. Easy. This site is only flyable when the Bise (easterly wind) is blowing. Wind must be 15 - 25 km/h at launch.
Landing
Usually one should top land. If one drops out there are fields below take-off. Landing there possible, but not so easy because they are steep and usually landing is cross wind.
Local weather notes
Observe the strenght of the wind. Getting blown over the back is not an option.
Flight rules
Site is below TMA of Zurich, Maximal altitude without clearance 1350 Meters asl. which is usually enough for soaring.
Please follow instructions from the maintainers (PARAnoia Zurich) which looks after this sensitive site.
Forecasts are planning aids, not safety clearance. Check current observations, official airspace and NOTAM information, local rules and your own experience before every flight.
