Several competition shave been held from this site and it also has several world records for distance and speed. XC towards East into Slovenia (Kobaridski Stol) and further is possible (and regularly done). New tarmac track to launch installed in summer 2012 making the site very accessible. HG launch (ramp) is different from PG launch and at a different location.
Not the easiest field to find visually, so take a GPS coordinate before you fly. That said, there are an abundance of places to land. Do not fly into the Class D airspace in the flats though.
