The takeoff is located inside the Park of Majella: it has an altitude of about 1100 m, it is exposed to the west and allows you to fly across the valley Peligna. It is recommended to use it on days with westerly winds and low-intensity (pre or post frontal) keeping in mind that due to the proximity of the Adriatic Sea, there is a predominance of winds from the northeast at high altitude. The thermal activity is very intense during the middle of the day and this makes takeoff recommended for experienced pilots. Even on days with wind from the west, it is possible that in the late afternoon there is in the valley, and then in the landing area, a prevalence of breeze from the north due to the influx of wind coming from the Gole of Popoli.
