Shining Tor is a hill site in SW Peak District (Buxton–Ashbourne) with a recorded launch elevation of 533 m. It works best in westerly winds. Pilots fly it for ridge soaring and thermal, using foot launch.

An extension of the same ridge that forms Cats Tor, Shining Tor is the highest point in Cheshire at 1817ft (559m) and the highest Paragliding site in the Peak District.
