Site briefing
A nice convenient site, suitable for quick flights, beginners, and general training. Might be a bit boggy in the landing areas. Do not fly during lambing season. This is usually posted on style at main Dumyat path.
Flat top of grassy hill, suitable for Easterly through to Westerly winds.
Wide choice of landing in flat moorland to west and south, though avoid going too far SE and getting close to the reservoir. Mature forest to SW some 600m from take off.
Drive up to Sherrifmuir from either Bridge of Allan or Dunblane or Greenloaning off the A9. Space for a car at old ruined barn, otherwise park further to South near the reservoir access track. Hill can be approached from either parking spot directly. Be aware of sheep.
Hilly site, subject to showers etc as usual.
Be aware of occassional low flying aircraft.
