GridReference : NT 234222. Take off will depend on wind direction WhatThreeWords: incisions.spices.press Access is via gate to west of Megget Water. Follow old road along side of wood plantation before taking track up along edge of plantation to hill. Follow obvious quad track up hill to take off.

Landing

Access and parking

GridReference : NT240225 WhatThreeWords: stickler.plod.vanished At road side close to bridge over Megget Water taking care not to block the gate. Road is a popular route for motorbikes so ensure parking does not obstruct visibility of bends. Getting there: A708 Selkirk to Moffat road via St Marys Loch

  • essential if flying mid week since this area is used for low flying exercises by military fast jets. Jets often fly BELOW the level of the hill.
  • Power lines on upper side of road between take off and landing field
  • North face towards Megget Dam can be turbulent if wind is off
  • Midges in landing field can be murderous during June, July, August
