Take the gondola lift or walk up to the gondola top station. From the top of the gondola follow the footpath north to Sgurr Finnisg-aig viewpoint as shown on the map. If the wind is more easterly head west from the gondola to the west launch. XC Tips: Many XC routes possible to Fort William, Glen Nevis, Kinlochleven and beyond. See the Cliff Smith Gary Williamson guide for more details. Top Landing Notes: Paragliders can top land anywhere, but beware of soft / uneven ground. Bottom Landing Notes: There have been several accidents landing in the car park and this is not recommended due to thermal activity and sudden changes in wind direction. The forest roads just south east of the main car park are a safer option.
As this is a big xc site landings away from this site are the most common. Landing at the bottom is ok but can be a bit much for inexperienced pilots despite the large area of ski car park under certain conditions. Strong sea breezes (westerly or south westerly) may develop in mid to late afternoon and be in a different direction to the high level met wind causing wind shear. Large trees surround the car park and can cause mechanical turbulence in these conditions. World Cup Mountain Bike events and other large mountain bike events sometimes fill the car park so that it is impossible to land safely. In this case you should go elsewhere to take off.
