L'épine - lac d'aiguebelette is a mountain site in the French Alps with a recorded launch elevation of 1,139 m. It works best in southerly, south-westerly, westerly and north-westerly winds, and can also work in northerly winds. Pilots fly it for ridge soaring and thermal, using foot launch.

alti:1150m after 13h the breeze is coming. Thermic during the afternoon, great flight at the end of the day, over the Aiguebelette lake.
near the entrance to the highway, on your right. Be careful, this area is fragile. Pack your glide under the trees, near the parking.
from Chambéry take the highway to Lyon. After the 'L'Épine' tunnel go out (Novalaise/Lac d'Aiguebelette, exit n°12). First crossroad on your left, and another time left immediately. Landing is just behind trees.
The takeoff is under the wind if it's coming from the North, NE, E or SE. Still flyable and possible to takeoff by North moderate wind (bellow 15km/h) but be careful by higher wind.
