Fantastic XC site in spring.
Take-off
Large moderatley sloped field. Easy take-off. Heavely frequented on good days. Thermal 100 meters to the left of the take off.
Launch site belongs to the farmer running a small restaurant next to the site, it is expected to consume something before taking-off (instead a launching fee).
Landing
Official landing site near the main road at the eastern entrance of the village (Matzendorf) below. Many fields if landing area can not be reached. Do not land in crops or fields with high vegetation.
Access and parking
Oensingen - Balsthal - Matzendorf
On good days the bus of the local flying club is leaving near the 'Kindergarden' in Matzendorf (weekdays) or behind the industrial complex at the entrance of Matzendorf left of the mainroad (coming from Balsthal).
Local weather notes
Bise (NE - E Wind) must not be too strong. Do NOT take off if wind is westerly, north-westerly or north, it will put you into the trees below take off.

TMA Basel above. Ceiling 1700 meters asl. Do not go above without radio clearance and good understanding of the airspace regulations for this area. Ask locals for information.
