The takeoff is situated at the top of chairlift in Champex, 2192m. There a west wind take-off and a east one. In summer it is recommended to exploit the thermals with the east wind. In winter it's easy to take with west wind and eventually do some soaring.
Summer: absolutely NO landing in Champex (even if the field looks inviting)!!! >> the landing field is situated in Orsieres. Can be seen from the east take-off. It's a wide field with hardly any obstacles. Valley wind can be strong in the afternoon! > use a field, where the grass is cut!
From Verbier or Martigny, go to Sembrancher, then Orsieres and Champex. Take the chairlift going up La Breyaz mountain (2020:14CHF) 'Best' bus from Orsieres-station leaves at 0924; then you are ready to launch by approx 1030...
