Planning information for Coo

Take-off

Probably the bigest take-off place you can find in Belgium. Two take-offs one W one S : - West side No major obstacles exept a series of trees 20 m below. - South side No major obstacles exept a series of trees 20 m below. Should not be attempted with the tiniest tendency to East wind, it becomes very very turbulent and nasty.

Landing

- West take-off the landing place is the big field just under the take-off. Avoid landing at the far end of it, you're under downwind of the hill. No top landings in the young forest behind the take off. - South take-off The landing place IS NOT the big field just under the take-off place (forbidden)! The official landing is in the south direction along the river after the chair-lift and the waterfall. Just under the west take-off. No top landings in the young forest behind the take off.

Access and parking

By car: drive in the direction 'Cascades de Coo', on the Aywaille-Vielsalm road and leave the car on the parking. Take the chairlift (special fee for paragliders) and then climb to the top of the hill in the north direction up to the take-off.

Local weather notes

- West Beware of the venturi on your right - South Beware of east wind on the south take off, it becomes turbulent and you can make some tree landings.

Flight rules

Be careful, there is a parachuting club 5km in the north and a restricted airspace above the military field of Elsenborn.
