About this flying site

An excellent launch point to cross the Leogang valley and conect onto the rock-face of the Leogangerstein Massif and from there, the Loffererstein Massif. Flying over these ranges is impressive, indeed!

Take-off

Lovely grass-covered launch.

Access and parking

In Winter, take the cable-car from either the Salbach or Leogang side. In Summer, take the cable-car from Hütten, then hike up the remaining distance (about 20 minute walk).

Local weather notes

The usual hazzards of the Alps: Föhn, thunderstorms, valley winds (thouhg I've never experienced them being very strong).

Flight rules

Be cautious of LO D 22 HOCHFILZEN which extends from ground level to 4267 meters MSL. Though you may legally fly in this zone, be advised this is a military training area using live munitions.
